ITINERARY
Day 1 Tangier – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
Arrival at the port/airport of Tangier picked up by our staff. Departure to Chaouen and if time permits stop in Tetouan, known as the Spanish city because it was the capital of the Spanish protectorate. Arrival in Chefchaouen known as the blue city, one of the most beautiful and charming cities of all northern Morocco. We will transfer you to your hotel and you will have free time to go through its labyrinthine and photogenic blue streets, to contemplate its old houses also painted in blue and white and to contemplate its best panoramic views. Bed and breakfast in a charming riad.
Day 2 Chefchaouen – Roman Ruin of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
We leave towards the imperial city of Fez, to arrive we will border the forests of the Rif until arriving at the Roman ruins of the city of Volubilis where there are the best preserved and most visited archaeological remains of all Morocco. The area was declared World Heritage by UNESCO in 1997. We will visit the ruins with an “optional” local guide and then continue to Meknes, a city that reached its peak thanks to the Sultan Mulay Ismail. Visit of his mausoleum and the famous door of Bab Mansour. After the visit, we will go to our destination, the imperial city of Fez. Arrival in Fez. Free time to visit its old medina and night in a charming riad.
Day 3 Visit of The Imperial City of Fez – Sightseeing Tours
After breakfast, a guided tour of the city famous for its ancient walled city, which many compare with the old walled city of Jerusalem. The country’s first imperial city and a pioneer in the Muslim cult of Morocco, it also has the luxury of owning one of the oldest universities in the world. Fez is particularly known for being the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco’s center of art and science. An entire day devoted to the discovery of the intellectual city of the kingdom. There are many monuments you can visit: Medersas (Koranic schools): Chahrij, Bouinania Attarin. Souks, Fes El-Jedid, the Karaouine Mosque (the first university in the world). Free time and night in a charming riad.
Day 4 Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Monkey Forest – Erfoud- Merzouga Desert:
From Fez, we will go to the Middle Atlas stopping in Ifrane known as the Switzerland of Africa due to its architectural style where the roofs to two glasses of water own of the countries of the north of Europe predominate. The next village through which we pass will be Azrou crossing the national park known for its cedar forests where are the famous Berber monkeys. Next, we will cross the Ziz Valley that will lead us to Erfoud known for its fossils. Arrival to the desert where we change the 4×4 for dromedaries with which we will give a pleasant walk of two hours by the dunes until arriving at the camp of Berber tents in the heart of the desert where they will receive us, according to the tradition of the Sahara, with a Berber tea. Night in Berber tents under the stars of the desert.
Day 5 Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley:
We will see the sunrise over the sea of dunes. After breakfast, we will return in camels to Merzouga and after a shower, we will go to Tinghir “the city of the mountain” in Tamazight, another beautiful Berber village where we will delight with the contrast of its palm groves and pink houses. We follow the route, and the landscape shows us its contrasts. We are in the Todra Gorges formed by natural rock walls over 200m high and after visiting them, we will head towards the Dades Valley, a Berber village famous for its high gorges and its views of the Atlas, now on the horizon. Night in a charming riad.
Day 6 Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas Mountains – Marrakech:
We will cross the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses until we reach Ouarzazate, where we will visit the kasbah of Taourirt, built-in adobe with crenelated towers and that for its importance, its architecture and its decoration, is one of the most beautiful in Morocco. It has the honor of having been the largest residence of the Glaoui, the “pacha” of Marrakech. and after 25 km of road, we will visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared world heritage by UNESCO famous for being the scene of cinematographic super-productions such as the Oscar-winning “Lawrence of Arabia”, “The Protective Sky” or “Babel”. We will follow the road that, crossing the port of Tichka will lead us to the “Red City”, Marrakech. On arrival, free afternoon and night in a charming riad.
Day 7 Visit of The Imperial City of Marrakech:
After breakfast, a guided tour of the city of Marrakech listed as one of the most important cultural centers throughout Morocco is also tourist capital and the first of the destinations of trips to Morocco. Many are the monuments that you can visit: Madraza Ben Youssef, Bahia Palace, Jemaa el Fna Square, Saadi tombs, souks and the mosque of Koutoubia. Free afternoon and evening in a charming riad.
Day 8 Marrakech / Airport Transfer:
After breakfast, the rest of the day free and at the agreed time transfer to the airport. End of our services and your trip to Morocco.
