ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival – Marrakech Sightseeing Guided City Tour
Transfer from the airport to the Riad, and then we’ll explore Marrakech – “the red city of Morocco.” We will ensure you see the most important historical and cultural sites, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, and the Bahia Palace. After lunch at a restaurant near the square, we’ll take a walk through the souks and the rest of the day will be at your leisure — overnight and dinner in Riad.
Day 2 Marrakech / Meknes
After breakfast in the Riad, we will move on to the third of our Imperial cities, Meknes, to explore its charming Medina with a local guide, and you will see the famous Bab Mansour gate, the Sahrij Souani, the royal stables and also the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismae; the ruler of Meknes and the Kingdom of Morocco during 17th century. Overnight and dinner in Riad.
Day 3 Meknes / Volubilis / Rif / Chefchaouen
After breakfast, we’ll head towards the Roman ruins at Volubilis, the largest ancient site of Morocco. A UNESCO world heritage site dated back to AD40 and once ruled the entire Roman kingdom of Mauritania. After exploring Volubilis, we’ll then head on to Chefchaouen for a an afternoon guided tour. High up in the Rif mountains, Chefchaouen boasts a beautiful blue door and white-walled Medina that was originally a Berber post. The main square is the heart of Chefchaouen, with the Kasbah (built back in the 18th century), central mosque and cafes with authentic menus. The busy market is a mix of traditional Moroccan and tourist fare. Overnight and Dinner in Chefchaouen.
Day 4 Chefchaouen / Fes / Guided Tour Medina
Breakfast at your accommodation, then, start a new explorative journey towards Fes. Arrival in Fes, we meet our local guide to start fully guided tour of the city of Fes. Explore the tanneries, souks, potteries, and the Medina, and learn the fascinating history of the city. We’ll later return to the hotel to get ready for an “optional” night of Moroccan entertainment and food at a restaurant in town. Overnight and dinner in Riad.
Day 5 Fes / Ifran / Azrou / Midelt / Ziz Gorges / Erracidia / Erfoud / Rissani / Merzouga Desert
Today is time to relax after the hustle and bustle of Fes, and we enjoy a stunning drive rewarded by top Moroccan views, cross the Mid-Atlas mountains region. Stop in Ifran, a beautiful alpine area, surrounded by huge pine trees and a tranquil mountain setting. Stop in Azrou to meet the Barbary apes and nomadic shepherds on the scenic, continue the journey between the Middle and High Atlas mountain ranges. Independent lunch in Midelt, then, head to the desert over Ziz River through a series of fortified villages made by clay, then to Erfoud and Rissani, head out to the Erg Chebbi dunes located in town of Merzouga sand dunes, the dunes are renowned for their incredible height and size. In parts, the vast sand pile reaches skyward to heights of 150 meters! There we will meet our camels, for a trek into the Sahara for a night at our Berber Camp. Tonight enjoy a local meal, music and a fantastic night out under the Saharan stars. Overnight – Erg Chebbi dunes at nomadic desert camp.
Day 6 Merzouga / Rissani / Jorf / Khettara / Tinghir / Todra Gorges/ Ouarzazate :
Early wake up to enjoy a such beautiful sunrise over the golden dunes, then, ride camels back to the village of Merzouga to meet your driver, leaving the desert, we move on to Todra Gorge. This 1000ft gorge is hemmed in on all sides by vertical limestone cliffs and is also called Morocco’s Grand Canyon. There’s time to explore the gorge, from its plunging depths to dizzying heights. The charm of Todra lies in its changing colors as the sun slowly moves from east to that flows through it giving life to a huge variety of colorful fruit and nut trees and extraordinary red rock formations. Our journey continues through the valley of The” Thousand kasbah route” that will take us through the rose valley, a visit to Skoura oases with its authentic 17-century kasbahs, then continue to reach Ouarzazate, where we spend the night in Riad.
Day 7 Ouarzazate/ Ait Benhaddou / Atlas Mountains /Marrakech:
After Breakfast in the Riad, we will drive to visit one of the oldest beautiful Kasbah in Southern Morocco, Ait Benhaddou kasbah, it is one of the nine sites in Morocco that UNESCO declared World Heritage. Ksar ait Benhaddou is a tribal, traditional pre-Saharan Moroccan concept, consisting of a group of buildings built in 1600 with organic materials, including a vibrant red mud, enclosed in high walls where some families still live today. The Kasbah (was built ) on a hill to dominate the valley along the banks of the Ounila River at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, the Kasbah featured many films such as Gladiator, Lawrance of Arabia, Game of Throne. Lunch on site, then we will continue through the High Atlas mountains and ‘Tizi N’tichka’ pass, which is the highest road pass in Morocco at 2260m altitude, where we will stop for you to admire various panoramic views and take beautiful pictures. At the evening we will arrive at Marrakech. Overnight and Dinner in Riad.
Day 8 Marrakech Or Casablanca / Transfer To The Airport :
After breakfast and depends on your flight time, we will drive to Casablanca airport to reach your flight « end of the tour.»
